Day 1
Fahad Hussayn: Inspired by the Rajhastani culture and Rajput bloodline, Fahad Hussayn opened PBCW with his collection titled Bloodline. Hussayn’s showcase consisted of beautiful bridals in shades of elegant pastels like ivory, off-white and golds to more vibrant hues like pinks, maroons and bronze etc. The runway adorned with beautiful flower arrangements and lighting set the mood for this majestic collection.
Ammar Shahid: From structured gowns in luxurious laces and brocades in ivorys and off-whites to the ultra-glamourous couture creations in dark and jewel tones, Ammar’s collection catered to the bride who is confident to carry off a daring ensemble on her wedding day. Nadia Hussain was the showstopper, in a blood red velvet gown with lots of flares and intricate gold detailing. Overall, Ammar Shahid’s decadent collection had a very over-the-top feel to it and lacked practicality.

Arsalan Iqbal: Titled Blood & Gold, Arsalan’s bridal collection reflected a fusion of east and west. The colour palette comprised of golds, greens, yellows, blues with hues of reds here and there. Gaudy embellishments and bizarre fusion of silhouettes clearly failed to impress.
Hajra Hayat: Next in line was the very talented designer Hajra Hayat. This time around Hajra took inspiration from the Mughal era of Shahjehan for her exquisite collection. The designer incorporated long and linear lengths in her showcase and the colour palette reflected lots of blacks paired with maroons, beiges, golds and hot pinks. Except for a few noteworthy designs here and there however, this particular showcase failed to create an impact.
Deepak Perwani: If anybody knows the Pakistani bridal market the best, it’s this man. He knows exactly what the brides want – and that is to look and feel like a princess on their big day. Titled Iznik, the bridal guru drew inspiration from Central Asia for his exclusive bridal collection and showcased classic, elegant cuts in beautiful hues of maroons, fiery reds, beige golds, midnight blues and rusts. The stunning showstopper outfit was donned by none other than the talented designer Maheen Khan who wore the beautiful long cape with hints of green and gold over an elegant black suit.

The colour palette comprised of the conventional bridal red and maroon as well as elegant green, beige and gold. This particular bridal collection was designed keeping the youngsters in mind. Nida Yasir and film actress Sahiba were the showstoppers for this showcase.
Nida Azwer: Day 1 of PBCW 2013 ended with Nida Azwer’s exquisite Hyderabad Collection. The collection like the title suggests was inspired by the traditional Hyderabadi attire.
